Fleta Roberta Forquer, 95, of Bentonville passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022. She was born July 29, 1927 in Norton County, Kansas to the late Reynolds Heywood Johnson Jr and Ruby McCall Johnson. Fleta and her family moved to Arkansas in 1935 to escape the Kansas dust storms. At the age of 16 she graduated from Bentonville High School Class of 1944. Fleta was also preceded by her loving husband of 67 years, Julian Forquer Jr; her sister, Reva Clark and her brother, Eldon Johnson. For many years Fleta worked for Tucker Abstract Co., from which she retired. Fleta was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bentonville for nearly 70 years and was very involved in church activities. Especially important to her was quilting with the members of the Dorcas Sewing Group. Through the years, she made hundreds of quilts included in the layettes they provide to new mothers at local hospitals. She also enjoyed piano playing, cooking, delivering meals-on-wheels, and caring for her family. Survivors include 2 daughters, Marilyn (Mark) O’Brate and Karen (Greg) Clark, both of Bentonville; 2 sons, Mike (Barbara) Forquer of Bentonville and Tony (Beth) Forquer of Ozark, Missouri; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; church family members and dear friends. Services will be held in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church of Bentonville on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Visitation is from 1:30-2:00pm with her Memorial Service following at 2:00pm.
