Steven Ernest Gerber, 70, husband of Vicki Sullivan Gerber, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at the home. Born May 16, 1954, in Columbia, Missouri, he was the son of the late Wayne and Maxine Gerber. Steve attended Savannah High School and graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla. He worked for 36 years at Bendix/Allied Signal/Honeywell of Kansas City as an IT System Engineer.
He enjoyed sports all his life from football, basketball, biking, softball, and most of all, golf. He was very active in his children’s sports and Boy Scouts. After retiring, he and his spouse spent 4 ½ years traveling fulltime in an RV, hiking the trails and taking photographs in some of the beautiful parks in the U.S. and the occasional golf game. Upon returning to Missouri 2 years ago, he spent a lot of time playing golf and visiting family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Vicki of Raymore, Missouri, his daughter Dana and her husband Paul Mings of Blue Springs, Missouri, son Brett Gerber of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and grandchildren Anabell Mings and Emaline Mings. He is also survived by his sister Jean and husband Terry Wolfe of Westminster, South Carolina, sister Janet and husband Greg Gremaud of Kirksville, Missouri, sister Lynn and husband Dwight Griffin of Trenton, Missouri, and brother Dave and wife Gail Gerber of Ridgecrest, California, and nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, July 16 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Silver Lake Club House, 113 Silver Lake Circle, Raymore, MO 64083. Burial to follow on Wednesday, July 17 at 1:00 at St. John’s Cemetery in Amazonia, Missouri.
