Nikki Joy King, age 63, wife of the late David King, of Harrisonville, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at her home. Born August 28, 1959 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Daughter of the late Bobbie and Carrie (McFarland) Sutter. Nikki's stepdad was Al Brown.
Nikki graduated from Belton High School in 1979. She met her first husband, Darrel Edmondson and they later had a daughter, Angela. She worked at the Belton Inn for a few years. Nikki then moved to California for a short while and decided to move back to Belton. She later divorced and met her second husband David Gatewood and had her second child, Lindy. She started working at UMB Bank in 1988 and lost her second husband in 2009, David Gatewood. She then met David King in 2011 and they married in 2012. She retired from the bank in 2017.
Nikki loved camping and traveling to new places. The last trips she went on were to New York and Niagara Falls. Then she lost her husband in 2019.
She had lost both her feet; one in 2018 and then the other one in 2020, but that really didn't slow her down she was still going strong!
She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Vickie Lynn Woodward and her husband's David Gatewood and David King.
She is survived by her daughter's Angela Mae Davis of Raytown, Missouri and Lindy Danelle Myers and her husband Mike Myers, of Harrisonville, Missouri; her brother in law Charles Woodward and grandchildren Desiree Myers, Collin Davis, Tyler Fuller, Aubree Fuller, Jayden Myers, Seth Myers, Carrie Myers and Scarlett Myers.
