The son of Nathan Arthur Riley and Emily (Willott Riley) Bevens. He was born and raised in MO with his 8 siblings were he worked on the family farm before entering the Army in 1948. He shipped off to S Korea in 1950 and returned with a Bronze Star with Valor and a Purple Heart for his service during the war.
Later in life he enjoyed spending time with his family, had a passion for horses, volunteered in many VA orgs and spent time with vets at the VA Hospital.
He leaves his wife of 66 years, Wilma (Longley) Riley; sons Michael and Kenneth; daughters Sandra Wallace, Donna Hamerle, and Rebecca McMahon, their spouses and 22 grand & great grandchildren.
