I have some very special memories of the times I spent with my grandma. Living far away we didn't get to see each other often, and looking back, not nearly enough. One special memory that comes to mind was waking up early one morning in San Antonio at grandma and grandpa's house. Grandma had me drive and we went to get breakfast for everyone else. She took me to a small hole in the wall tacoría. They had the best breakfast burritos I had ever eaten. Mexican food is my favorite, and I found it amazing and hilarious that my 70 something year old grandma wanted them too. It was a touching bonding moment.  You will always be in my heart grandma, and I know you will continue to watch over me in my firefighting career as well as the rest of my future. Until we meet again....

My memories of my grandmother go back as far as I can remember. The holidays, sea world, the beach. You are deeply missed and forever in my heart. Love you,  Joe Winters

Mom- you were the best! I have so many great memories, but I still wish we had more time. As I go through pictures, I now have questions.... Who was the guy who signed your yearbook..'to the girl I didn't mean to stand up'? Well, I'm glad he did because then you had a chance to meet dad. It was hard being the family that moved away from our New York family, but we had great experiences: Florida - beaches, Kentucky - a pet store, Ohio- a swim team that traveled, and Arkansas- the natural state (and high school shenanigans for me). P.S. Thx for pulling the chair up to the front door to confront me when I came home late. I now know how much you cared. I went to Kansas and you moved to Texas. We didn't get together often, but we talked weekly on the phone. I'm glad I talked you into moving up here. Then, 2 months later, my life changed forever. Thx for being there for me. You are never too old to need your mom. And you were there for me. I love you now and I'll love you forever. I miss you mom.

My mother was the best!  Mom always encouraged me to do my best. Mom was kind, supportive . Mom loved me as only a mother could do; when I was not always easy to love. My mother was a gift!.

It was such a happy day for me, when I moved to Glens Falls from Albany--due to a move by AT@T, my Dads employer,and entered my Freshman year at St.Mary,s Academy, meeting Mary Jane and Mary Webb and Vivian Bombard.  We paled together for the next 2 years and I can say they were among the happiest years of my schooling.
My Dad was then transferred again to Albany, but I never lost touch with those girls.  And yes, in Vivians note she recalls the trip to NYC the 4 of us made.  Imagine, only 17, and with $50.00 in my purse, we had a great time and did all we wanted to do!The Hotel cost only $5.00 each per night!
I have not seen Mary Jane , since she and Sam attended the 50th HS reunion.  But it was very special.  Over the years we have never failed to send Birthday and Christmas cards.Now that is a strong friendship!
Cannot get her out of my mind today,and she will be in my prayers forever,

Mary Jane and I have been friends since we met in high school at Saint Mary's Academy, Glens Falls, NY.  The week after graduation she and I with Peggy Briggs and Mary Webb went to New York City for a four day weekend.  We enjoyed sightseeing, eating at the Automat and spending a day at Coney Island where we rode the famous roller coaster  - Cyclone.  (My first and last roller coaster ride).
Over the years we kept in touch while we both had a lot of corporate moves.
When she was in San Antonio I used to visit her on my trips to Texas.  Then when I moved to Kerrville, TX in 2003, I was able to drive over to have lunch at least once a month. I was always happy to see her and have a visit.
I will miss my dear smiling friend.

We moved to Tx. in 1984. Met Mary Jane and Sam thru good friends of ours(Lynn & Margaret).From there our friendship just grew and grew. We shared many good times and a few tears together since then. Took many walks together sometimes the four of us or just us girls. She and I would walk the parking lots of Sam's and Wal-mart to look for money. Found some too.  Of course we spent many hours at the pool and some time the beach. There was a small group of us women ate out once a month. Some of our best times were when the six of us got together taking turns at each others homes to celebrate our Birthdays, Anniversaries and some holidays. Took some shopping trips in town and in Mexico. One I recall. Mary Jane and Sam had bought him a pair of pants. After they got home discovered one of those special tags was left on. So she and I went back to return the pants. Just before we went in Mary Jane said gee I hope this doesn't set the alarm off. I told her if it did I wasn't going to know her. Guess what ,it did set the alarm off. We always had a good laugh about that. She always liked the times we would go shopping the Friday after Thanksgiving. We would get up early stand in line even sometimes when it was cold. After we got what we wanted early would go have Breakfast Tacos, then finishing our shopping. She said she missed doing that after I moved back to Iowa. We had many good times together as I said, to many to write about. Our one regret is we didn't make it to Mo. to visit with her before her passing, but will always have our memories. Any time you girls want to talk I would be happy to listen and talk. Maybe sometime down the road soon we can get together and share more memories with you.
