Joyce Carroll Terry

Joyce Terry went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 26, 2025 at 2:45 a.m. surrounded by love and peace.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tommy R. Terry Sr. And her sister, Jean Ann Owenby (Woodrow), all of the DeWitt, Arkansas area.

Joyce Terry was married to Tommy R. Terry Sr. On January 30, 1965 and they were married for 55 years, up until the time of his death on June 18, 2020. They had two children together. Tommy R. Terry Jr. of DeWitt, Arkansas and Laura A. Griffie (Greg) of Grandview, Missouri. They had several grandchildren including: Donovan S. Griffie (Michaela) of Fenton, Missouri, Wesley Drummond of Novle, Oklahoma, Ashley Terry of Maumelle, Arkansas, Lindsay Phelps (Jacob) of DeWitt, Arkansas, and Hunter Terry of DeWitt, Arkansas. They also had one great grandchild, Marley Phelps of DeWitt, Arkansas.

During Joyce’s working career, she was a dietetic manager for the local hospital in the DeWitt, Arkansas area and worked in that career for nearly twenty years before her declining health forced her to leave the work that she loved.

Other than the love of her work, she dedicated her life to her family, her grandchildren, and her love of Christ. She was not shy about sharing the love of God with every soul she encountered on a daily basis and anyone who ever met her for any length of time at all KNEW it.

Due to her declining health, Joyce came to live with her daughter, Laura Griffie (Greg) in their Grandview, Missouri home for the remainder of her life.

Although we are saddened to see Joyce leave our lives, we knew that the moment she drew her last breath in our presence, it began her first breath in the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ and that at that moment her celebration was just beginning.

We ask that you all think about the memories that you have shared with Joyce and when you do.... smile, knowing that she is smiling and thinking back to all the times that she was praying for you... because if she knew you, she was praying for you.
