Jerry T. Duvall, age 85, passed away October 7, 2024 at Carnegie Village in Belton, MO. He was born July 27, 1939 to Bill and Elva Tidwell Duvall. He married Nancy Chase on November 11, 1960. Jerry was a Journeyman Lineman and a 55 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He was a proud member of Local #53, KCMO since 1969 where he served 7 terms as their president.
Jerry was committed to his community and was actively involved in numerous organizations: A member of the Belton City Council from 1983-1995, where he also served as Mayor Pro-Tem 1990-1993, Belton City Charter Commission member 2002 and 2008, Belton Emergency Management - Civil Defense 1979-2019, Belton Masonic Lodge # #450 since 1999. He also served as their Grand Master in 2006. Boy Scout Troop #111 in Belton since 1978, past Scout Master and member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Various other organizations: Cass County Democrat, LEPCI – (Labor Education Political Club Independent), Belton Baseball Assoc., Belton Lions Club and Kansas City Area Transportation Authority.
Jerry's hobbies were hunting, fishing and any outdoor activity. He was well known in the community as having the best garden in town!
He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Elva, wife Nancy, brothers William (Buddy) and Don Duvall and sister Charlene Shackleford.
Survivors are son Todd (Catherine) Duvall, Belton MO; daughter Jana Duvall (Jim Holmes) Lee’s Summit MO; sister Judy (Rollin) Duncan, Poplar Bluff MO; brother Waren Duvall, Tulsa OK; grandchildren Nena, Tessa, Nicholas, Jake, Aubrie, Aaron, Justin, Mackenzie and Jacob and 16 great grandchildren.
Jerry devoted his life to his family and his community. His presence will be missed.
