Ruth, age 80, of Raymore, MO, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, MO. Ruth was born on November 17, 1943, in Franklin, KY, to the late Frances (Thomas) Hopkins and Jewel Hopkins. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Raymore. Ruth loved her family and church.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Billy McGonigal; daughter, Lisa (Steve) Henson; brother, Bobby Hopkins; and her sister, Lois Keen.
Survivors include her husband, Blaine McGonigal; a son, Jeff McGonigal of Chuckey, TN; two step-daughters, Elaine (Jim) Boose of Lecompton, KS and Sheryl Armstrong of Dayton, OH; five grandchildren, Casandra Jo Kitchens, Tara McGonigal, Chris Williams, Nicholas (Mary Patton) Chandler and Brittainy (Justin) Merritt; a great granddaughter, Ruby Claire Merritt; and two sisters, Faye Harpe and Brenda Shaw.
Services will be on Friday, June 21 at McGilley & George Funeral Home and Cremation Services 611 Chestnut, Belton, MO. Visitation from 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM with funeral at 11:00 AM. Contributions to Faith Baptist Church in Raymore, MO.
A family service will be held at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory in Franklin, KY, with burial in Sulphur Spring Cemetery.
