Erwin Clifton Thompson

Erwin Clifton Thompson, 78, passed away February 3, 2011, in Kansas City, MO. He was born to Murray and Ruby Thompson in Miami, Florida. Erwin was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from AT&T after 38 years as an Electrical Engineer. Erwin is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lela Mae Thompson; his sisters, Elaine Thompson and Pat Puff; two daughters, one son, five grandchildren, two grand dogs, eight great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents; 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. A visitation will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, February 6, 2011, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m., at the McGilley & George Funeral Home, 611 Chestnut Street, Belton, MO. A private inurnment will take place at a later date in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
