David Lee Thurman, 72, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 29, 2023 at his home in Belton, MO. David was born on December 9, 1951 in Kansas City, MO to Hubert and Elizabeth Thurman (Robertshaw). He graduated from Ruskin High School in 1970. Following graduation David enlisted in the United States Army. He married his first wife, Lulu and had 2 children Jeremy and Brandy Thurman. David married his second wife, Shelly and had 2 children David John and Joshua Thurman. David then reunited and married his highschool sweetheart Beverly.
David was a quiet man who loved to spend time with family. He loved to work on cars, doing yard work. David also loved to collect flashlights, and pocket knives.
He is predeceased by both his parents, 2 sons David John and Joshua Thurman, and brother Paul Thurman. David is survived by his wife Beverly Thurman of Belton, MO; sister Sheryl Thurman of Belton, MO; son Jeremy Thurman of Kansas City, MO; daughter Brandy Thurman of Kansas City, MO; stepdaughter Heather Mitchell of Harrisonville, MO; stepdaughter Holly Mitchell of Harrisonville, MO and 6 grandchildren.
