Charles William Pilcher, 87, of Belton, Missouri passed away on April 1, 2022 at Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Charles was born in Wathena, Kansas on May 20, 1934 to Woodson G. and Viola (MacGonnigil) Pilcher. At seventeen years of age Charles enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country during the Korean War. After serving for three years, he was Honorably discharged in 1954. Charles married Donna Vivian Reed in 1954 in Kansas City, Kansas. The couple had four children. Charles also joined the Kansas City Fire Department in 1954. He rose to the rank of Captain with the KCFD before his retirement. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping with friends and family.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Shirley Pilcher-Davis; son Charlie Pilcher, Jr.; sister Marie Sapone; brother John Pilcher. He is survived by his wife Donna; son Michael Pilcher; daughter Debbie Pilcher-Tracy; and sister Patricia Dennis.
A funeral for Charles will be held Friday, April 15, 2022 at 10:00 AM at McGilley & George Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 611 Chestnut, Belton, MO 64012. Following the funeral will be a burial with Military Honors at 12:00 PM at Cravens Cemetery, 6337 Smithey Rd., Camden, MO 64017.
