Arthur W. “Art” Letzig III (also known as “Buddy”) died unexpectedly on November 15, 2013 at home in Belton, MO. He was born on December 10, 1948 in Kansas City, MO to Arthur W. and Betty Coomes Letzig. Growing up in Belton, Art attended Belton Public Schools and graduated from Northwest Missouri State at Maryville in 1970. He was as an elementary school art teacher for 16 years in the Center School District in Kansas City, and remained in contact with many of his students. He owned Bellucci’s restaurant in downtown Kansas City and was a master ice carver and chef. Over the last 20 years, Art worked in the food industry as a chef and server, most recently at Cinzetti’s in Overland Park, KS, where he developed a loyal following of customers who appreciated his easygoing and friendly manner.
Art is survived by his sister, Barbara Letzig Carrender, Joplin MO; nephew, Trent Carrender, Fayetteville AR; and cousin, Karen Calvert, Belton MO.
