“Rosie”
July 14, 1928- October 4, 2016
Ruth was the third child of Ruth Arnaldo and Victorino Lorico and was born in Manila, Philippines. Her early growing up years were spent with her parents and two brothers and three sisters until World War II events and the death of their parents got them separated. They got reunited and were mostly taken cared of by their grandmother, Sergia Arnaldo.
Ruth had shown inner strength and resolution as she raised her three sons and four daughters in the Philippines.. She had kept her faith and trusted in God to provide for their needs. With the help of her sister Noemi she immigrated to the US in 1991 and God has been gracious in giving her a fresh start in life. She enjoyed sharing life with her sisters, brother and their families. Countless celebrations and reunions as well as travels with family brought her so much happiness. She loved sharing the blessings she received to her two daughters and their families in the Philippines. She had been an active parishioner of First Lutheran Church in Long Beach, CA. She had also served in the Seniors Association in St. Mary Tower where she lived for many years. In the last eight years of her life, her affliction with leukemia and other illnesses brought forth even more of her inner beauty and strengthened her faith in God.. She spent time reading volumes of Mornings with Jesus and Portals of Prayer, her Bible and many other inspirational books. She had always written Bible verse and inspiring poems on her journal and cards sent to family. Her quiet, patient and gentle spirit is a reflection of God’s grace and her trust in His love and faithfulness.
In October 2015, the loving hands, faithful service and friendship of the staff and residents of West Anaheim Extended Care had been a beautiful gift to her and to her family.
