He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Edna Frances Egan, his Daughter, Janet, His sons, David and Patrick, and daughter, Elizabeth, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Born and raised in Indiana, the son of William and Grace Egan, he moved to Downey in 1960. At the age of 16, he enlisted in the Marines and served in World War II, then re-enlisted to serve in the Korean War. His bravery was honored with a commemorative statue in his home state of Indiana.
After serving in the Marines, he continued his education and received a B.A., M.A., and PhD in Psychology. He went on to serve as District Psychologist for the El Monte School District for over 40 years.
A consummate family man and beloved patriarch: all who met him liked him, all who knew him loved him, and he will be missed.
