Mark Steven Keller was born in Bellflower, CA to Lynette and Steve Keller on March 31, 1985. He was the youngest of three children, having two older sisters, Tonya and Lisa. He attended our Lady of Refuse School in Long Beach until they moved to Bellflower where he attended Mayfair Jr. High through high school. Mark graduated in 2003, receiving many honor roles during that time. His love for God lead him to Bible Studies in Middle School where he sent his messages of leadership from the LA Church of Christ.
During Mark’s childhood he had a love for sports and physical fitness. He played a wide range from soccer and baseball, to playing basketball for Mayfair. In his early teen years he developed a passion for a different type of sport...Music. He turned his original lyrics into production and performance. Since the age of 12, Mark began developing in to what a good deal of us have come to know as the local rap star “PRO”.
With his first mix-tape release titled “Serious Business”, PRO sold an estimated 10,000 copies. In the same entrepreneurial spirit, his latest album release titled “Gangland”, PRO sold an estimated 15,600 copies. In turn, this led him to build a music fan base to achieve more than 5,000,000+ digital song plays around the world. This in part, was due to his wisdom to include prominent mainstream artists from around the country and sharp delivery from the man himself.
His many fans and supporters knew him as “PRO” the Rapper, but to his loved ones, he was known as Mark Keller. He was determined; he was passionate about his dreams; he was a man of integrity; he was a man of God and now Mark is with God.
Mark loved to spend most of his time with his family; his wife Stephany, and four children Rosie, 6; Destiny, 5; Markie, 2; and Marrisa, 2 months old. He was an excellent father who loved his children, wife, mother, father, grandparents, sisters, cousins, and other relatives, along with his close knit circle of friends who were like brothers and sisters to him. Mark is remembered for his special talent of loving people with his heart. He had a sense of humor and easy going personality that made it easy to be around him. Mark could always be counted on to help a friend in need.
Mark is loved dearly by his family and friends. Our hearts will always hold a special place that only he can fill. Mark would not want his family or friends to mourn for him. He is now in heaven where he will one day greet his family and friends with open arms.
“Never let down a heart that’s a sacred bond.” -Mark Keller
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
John 14:27
