This picture was taken March 4, 2020 on his 61 birthday shortly before he retired at SMMC. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Jim for over 10 years. Jim had a heart of gold and would help out any way he could. I remember meeting Jim, he was outside of the directors office about to interview. He was so nervous I could see it on his face. I asked if he was okay, he told me that he hadn't worked anywhere else and was anxious about his new potential employment. I told him everything was going to be okay, and it was. Jim fit in like family. We went on to share countless memories at work and a few outside. One of our favorite things to do was go to the Brazilian Steakhouse, Greenfield, right after work. We would starve ourselves all day for the opportunity to have some of the best beef and bottles of wine. I remember on one occasion we opened a special bottle that a doctor gifted to Jim, Opus One 2009. Jim would at random ask to see the picture I took that afternoon. It was like every time I showed him, he relived the moment. 2016 was a rough year for us, we lost a brother pictured behind him on the plague. Jim and Art were instrumental in the success of the Bariatric program at work. When Art was ill, a small group of us shaved our heads in solidarity, Jim included. I started off with the clippers to the middle of Jim's head at the lowest setting and clipped all the way to the back. I looked at him and said, "The clippers won't work anymore." He took one look at me and we all started laughing. Jim will be sorely missed. Behind his poker face there was always a laugh or a smile waiting to come out and that was truly my favorite thing about Jim. Rest easy Jim.

Praying that God comforts you as you navigate this season without him. Such an untimely loss.
