Evelyn Mae McDonald was called home on August 3, 2011. Born in South Dakota on November 3, 1919, she and her nine siblings grew up on a farm in Hawarden, Iowa. At 21, Evelyn Hendricks followed her older sister Leona west to California, and was followed in turn by William Lewis McDonald. The two were married in Bellflower, CA, shortly after they were reunited. Evelyn is survived by her loving husband, William Lewis McDonald; her brother, Ivan Hendricks; two daughters, Dayla Joy McDonald and Marla Jean McLeod; four grandchildren, Christina Anne Larsen, Eric Larsen, Larissa Jean Curran, and Aidan McDonald McLeod; a son-in-law, Mark Curran; a great-granddaughter, Emma Elizabeth Curran; and a large extended family. Evelyn's joy for life was reflected in her stories, her singing, her wit, her beauty, and her love, and this joy brightened the lives of all who knew her. She will truly be missed.
