William “Bill” Toler was born on October 31, 1924 and passed away on April 20, 2011. Bill was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to William and Gertrude Toler. The family moved to CA. during his teenage years where he graduated from Polytechnic High School in Long Beach. He served in the Navy Air Corps for four years and then began his career with Standard Oil Co. of Calif. He met and married Margy Hansen on June 13, 1951 and they moved to Bellevue in 1962 where he continued to work for Chevron, retiring in 1985.
Bill was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Issaquah. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and camping with his family. He was a member of Sahalee Country Club for many years. Bill was a Mason and a Shriner and participated in many of their events. After Bill’s retirement they enjoyed many trips and cruises to different countries.
Bill is survived by his wife Margy, of 59 years, his children, Julie Rolfe, Nancy (Keith) Larson, David (Andrea) Toler and Scott (Sheri) Toler. His grandchildren are Dylan Rolfe, Shawna and Brent Larson, and Benjamin and Joshua Toler. His parents and sister, Mary France Tucker, preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 1st, at 2:00 at Faith United Methodist Church, 3924 Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd. SE., Issaquah, WA. Online sentiments may be offered at www.sunsethillsfuneralhome.com.
