William (Bill) Hall Jr., a Marine who served two tours in Vietnam, community activist, and beloved actor known for his work in film, television, and theater, passed away Friday, February 14th at the age of 78. He was a talented and versatile performer who brought joy and laughter to audiences around the world.
Bill was born in Rendville, Ohio to parents Captain, Allie Marie Summers Hall (deceased) and Colonel William Hall (deceased). One of seven children and the oldest son, he grew up as an Army-Brat in many different locations around the globe. He joined the Marine Corps in 1965, serving four years and two tours in Vietnam. After his service in the Marine Corps, he began his lifelong community activist work with Vista Corps which in turn introduced him to his love of acting. He began his acting career in the theater, appearing in numerous productions both on- and off-Broadway. Bill toured with theater groups around the world including performances in Russia and China, but his heart and passion remained where he got his start - theater productions in Seattle, Washington.
Survived by his sister Lisa; nephews Bill, Matthew, Jarrod, Jordan, and Eli; and nieces Michelle and Danielle, great nieces and nephews; and beloved friends who became family. Bill is loved by his family, friends, and colleagues and is deeply missed.
A memorial service for Bill will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park on May 16th, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in the name of William Hall, Jr. to the local performing arts or theater group of your choice.
