Soo Ping Wong passed away peacefully on November 23, 2010 after complications from surgery. Born on August 20, 1936 in Toishan, China, she is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, David "Shack" Lien Wong and her cherished children and their spouses; Nancy (David) Woo, Tony (Joyce) Wong, Alvin (Wendy) Wong, Wilbur (Kim) Wong, Kathy (Kim Y.) Chinn.
She was an adoring grandmother to Christopher and Jordan Woo, Alexander Wong, Callie and Curtis Chinn. She leaves behind her mother; Mrs. Ngun Lui, sister Caroline Toy, brother Michael (Miely) Lui, and many nieces and nephews.
Soo was an accomplished chef and operated a family restaurant with her husband for many years; and enjoyed her time with family, home and garden after retirement. She was known for her beautiful flower beds and a flair for style. Her dedication to family, integrity, kindness, and heart of gold are instilled in her children. She is forever loved, and will be dearly missed.
A celebration of her life and interment will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., Sunset Hills Funeral Home, 1215 145th Pl. SE. Bellevue, WA. 98007.
