Parents Howard and Edith Wells – older brother Kenneth.
He was a kind and loving father to his children
Randy, David, Pat and Cathy and was a devoted
husband to his wife Joan for more than 64 years.
Bob, as he was known, graduated from West Seattle High School in 1952. After graduating he joined the Air Force and was a Veteran of the Korean War where he worked as an Avionics specialist. After his enlistment, he attended the University of Washington on The GI Bill in Seattle in 1956.
He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in
Architecture in 1961. Worked for Jack Bryant for 3 years apprenticing. Bob received his Architect License in 1965.
Joined in 1967 Wilson, Okamato & Associates located in Oahu, Hawaii.
Returning to Seattle in 1973 he worked for several companies before he opened up his own office in Bellevue, WA in 1979 Robert Wells & Associates. Bob continued to work into his 70’s Bob also from 1958 to 1980 had a working relationship with Cedar Homes.
During his professional career some of his biggest accomplishments were:
• Worked on the World’s Fair 1962 Century 21 Expo Electricity Utilities Pavilion
• Maui Sports Stadium
• Costco in Anchorage
• Cold-storage Potato warehouse in Boardman, Oregon - Simplot
• Designed 3 of his personal homes.
• Licensed in 10 States
He loved to travel and take pictures. During his lifetime he took more than 40 cruises and travelled to all 50 states. His personal picture collection consists of probably more than 100,000 pictures. One of his favorite things to photograph on his travels were covered bridges and lighthouses.
Later in life, Bob was an active member of his local YMCA and used to exercise there several times a week. He was also active in the YMCA’s Silver Sneakers dance group and performed with them often at local events.
His passing is a great loss. He will truly be missed by his family and friends who loved him.
A Family Gathering will be held on Saturday, August 20th, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, Bellevue, Washington.
A gathering immediately following the Family Gathering will be held at Tambark Creek Park - Shelter 1 near playground, 17217 35th Avenue SE, Bothell, Washington 98012.
Reception will be held following the Family Gathering at 4:30 PM at the Sound to Summit Brewery, 1830 Bickford Avenue, Suite 111, Snohomish, Washington 98290.
