After graduating from Berkeley High, Bob attended Whitworth College and University of California Berkeley receiving a BA in History. While studying at Berkeley he was a Young Life Leader at Mt Hermon, a Presbyterian Church Community. Bob continued with graduate studies at Princeton Theological Seminary receiving a Masters in Divinity.
In 1956 Bob married Linda Gallagher and he settled in Seattle as the Associate Minister at Mt Baker Presbyterian Church. They moved to Concord, CA in 1962 where Bob was the Associate Minister of Concord Presbyterian Church. Bob was called back to Seattle as the Associate Minister of Woodland Park Presbyterian Church and later as the head Pastor at Inglewood Presbyterian Church in Kirkland.
Bob used his organizational and humanitarian skills as the Director of Crisis Clinic, Director of Planning and Allocations for United Way in King County and Director of United Way for the King County Eastside Bureau.
After retirement Bob continued his life of service by volunteering for Samaritans for Sr. Citizens, serving on the Board of Evergreen Hospital and Park Shore Retirement Community.
Bob loved to travel with friends and enjoyed many trips to Europe. He stayed involved in his grandchildren’s lives by attending their numerous sporting and artistic events. He was very proud of all of their accomplishments.
Bob is survived by wife Linda Vaughn, children Jim, Polly and Suzie, grandchildren Madison, Jasper, Kellen, Celia, Naiah and Quad, brother of Sally (Vaughn) Wiley and Bill Vaughn, and many nieces and nephews.
