Rita fuiste: madre, amiga y confidente.
enseñarnos a amar y honrar a Dios.
...Saint Jorge blessed, tie up your little animals with a blessed cord so that they don't bite neither my siblings nor me...
This was the first prayer Mama taught us, and as a second act of faith, she taught us to kneel down.
With the grace of God, we lived in a humble house with adobe walls, a tile roof, and carrizo where scorpions, spiders, and rats the size of rabbits nested, even the cats were afraid. If cats could speak, Doña Rita would have taught them to pray too, what can I say, we lived daily difficulties, not only financial but also emotional. Mama taught us to take refuge in God.

We should have been seven, but unfortunately one was not born.
Throughout the years, Rita left an indelible mark on the lives of her children and everyone who knew her. Her love for God and her Catholic faith were evident.
Rita: you were a beacon of light in dark moments.
Rita: you were an exceptional mother, you left an indelible mark on the lives of your children.
Rita, woman of indomitable spirit: your indomitable spirit and determination taught us to face life's challenges with courage and resilience. You never gave up in the face of adversity and taught us that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, to offer our sufferings to our Lord Jesus Christ, and to rest in God's unchanging will.
Rita, you were a mother, friend, and confidante. You listened attentively and offered words of encouragement when they were most needed. Your generous heart and your ability to provide unconditional support to all those around you were and will continue to be an inspiration to all of us.
Today, we bid farewell to Mama with sadness in our hearts, but also with gratitude for having had the privilege of receiving her love and affection. Her legacy of faith and love will endure in our lives and in future generations. Although she is no longer physically present, her spirit will live on in every act of kindness we perform and in every moment we draw closer to God.
Rest in peace, Mama. Your story of faith and love will always guide us and remind us of the importance of living a life centered on God. Thank you for being our example of Christian life and for teaching us to love and honor God. We love you and will miss you always.
In memory of Rita Diaz: an eternally beloved lady.
