Age 81, of Redmond, died July 30, 2010. Born February 23, 1929 in Mount Vernon, WA. Graduated in 1950 from Washington State University receiving a Bachelor of Science. Worked as a bacteriologist for Shell in California until settling down with husband, John Lawson. Both were avid travelers who journeyed throughout the world. Patty developed into a talented painter, sewer, knitter and embroiderer. Ms. Lawson is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, John, her parents Ethelbert and Ruth Blaney, and her son in law, Michael Essex. Survived by daughter Pamela Essex of Delta, BC; grandchildren Graham and Kirsten Essex; sister Elinor Blaney Curry of Mount Vernon, WA; and several cousins situated across Canada and the United States. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Patty was a caring, generous person who will be missed by many family and friends. Memorial Service will be held at the Redmond United Methodist Church, Saturday August 14th at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
