Don and I reconnected by telephone and email two years ago after not having seen one another since 1979 in Ithaca. He found me in Washington, DC by googling some of his old Ithaca friends and colleagues. We subsequently spent many hours regularly chatting about his childhood, his career, his time in Ithaca, and his post-Ithaca adventures in Washington and at sea. He was a remarkable story teller, friend and mentor who led a remarkable life, and now, sadly, the reunion we had planned for later this winter will not take place. My wife and I extend our sincere condolences to his family and many friends.

So say to lose Don, one of the most remarkable people I've ever known.  Best to you and your family.  Please advise if there will be a Funeral or Memorial.
