Lois E. Lemon was born May 2, 1931 in Norwalk, WI. She was raised in the Sparta / Tomah area of Wisconsin. She married Robert Lemon of Tomah, WI and together they lived in Chicago, Wichita, Los Angeles and Seattle, WA as Robert worked at various aviation companies. She resided in Bellevue, WA for 53 years in the same neighborhood with several neighbors still residing on the same street.
Her hobbies were genealogy and doll collecting. She began her genealogy research before the days of computers and gathered much information from hand written letters back and forth to trace family roots back to the Mayflower and learn of many new relatives. She also enjoyed her doll collecting and sharing her dolls with others.
Lois was a lifelong volunteer and was particularly active with the Overlake Hospital Auxiliary, Campfire Girls, St. Luke’s Lutheran church and the Eastside Group Health Volunteers. The highlight to her was her long standing volunteer position to take the newborn baby photos at both Overlake and Eastside Group Health hospitals culminating with her Citizen of the Day award from KIXI radio for training volunteers.
