Kathleen Isabel Hansen

A graveside service for the family will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and

Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held in October at Westminster Chapel.

Kathleen was born July 11, 1940, in Spokane, WA, the daughter of Claude and Genevieve Pair. She

graduated from Boise High School in 1958 and then continued her education at the College of Idaho

where she received a Business Education degree in 1961 and followed with master's degree at the

University of Idaho in 1963. She married Gary C. Hansen on June 20, 1964, in Boise, Idaho. Initially, they

moved to Eugene, OR, followed by Seattle where she acquired her first dog. She taught at Mercer Island

High School. Subsequently, they moved to Vancouver, Canada where she taught at Capilano College in

West Vancouver. Finally, after they moved to Bellevue, she became a tenured professor at Bellevue

College.

She enjoyed Bible Study, teaching multiple bible studies throughout her life and most of all loved her

Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was actively involved in her church, Westminster Chapel leading

Precept Bible Studies, and Moms In Touch. In addition, to Kathleen’s teaching career, she was a devoted

wife and mother. She enjoyed her family and dogs at her home and at both her mountain and ocean

condos. In retirement, she and Gary travelled extensively with dear friends to Europe, Israel, Egypt,

Turkey, Australia, and New Zealand.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Gary C. Hansen, her son Gregg C. Hansen and his wife Rebecca of

Beverly, MA, daughter Kristina I. Swenson and her husband Aaron of Silverdale, WA; grandchildren

Katherine I. Swenson, Andrew C. Hansen, Sarah A. Swenson, and Elizabeth F. Hansen; and her brother

James R. Pair and his wife Karen of Bellevue, WA. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Pair.
