Jake was the sort of person who comes into your life and leaves footprints on your heart.  We sorely miss him.

We would generally see John and/or Yong in the morning on our daily walks.  He really enjoyed the outdoors. We didn't know that he was such a outdoorsman until we saw his pictures in this guest book. We will keep a close eye on Yong, as she is a special person, and our friend.

I'd like to echo the sentiments of of my co-workers - Jake was truly a gentle giant who only spoke up when he really had something to say (and then we all knew it was time to listen).  He was a real blessing to me during my own battle with cancer, allowing me to focus on what he helped me refer to as my 'new priority'.  He really looked out for his people and will truly be missed.  My condolences and prayers go out for his family.

Jake was truly a gentle giant and always cared for the well-being of  his employees. It was a pleasure working for him side-by-side during the past 7 years as the Chief, ETS Division - San Francisco District.  I will truly miss him!!   Rest in Peace Jake...

Jake was such a kind and intelligent person.  He influenced and affected the careers of so many young people during his time at the San Francisco District.  Though he was a man of few words, when he spoke, everyone listened.  He was a wonderful engineer and leader.
