Later in life, she returned to nursing, as Nursing Supervisor, at Bayview Manor Retirement Home, in Seattle, for 14 years. Her friendships were long and numerous, many lasting a lifetime. She was a touchstone for many. She was active with her Rainbow Girls/Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, her Basic 27s UofW Nursing Class, her Bridge Club and her Church Book Group. Janice was a passionate genealogist, recently compiling a beautiful family tree photo book and notebook of family memoirs. The family thanks the Hospice, agency staff, friends and family, who have helped make her transition full of grace and dignity. She is survived by her four children, Chad, JoAnne, Matt, James and step-son, Jack Jr. She has seven grandchildren: Casey, Aaron, Janelle, Berina, Shawn, Nathan and Kaleen. She has three great-grandchildren: Noah, Sterling and Hannah, whom have been a joy to her. She also has eight step-grandchildren and twelve step-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Raymond A. Dodge, Jr., sister Evelyn Joneson and sister-in-law Gwynne Dodge. She has many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, that she cherishes. Her husband’s nine siblings in Canada pre-deceased her, as did her own numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was our Rock of Gibraltar and we will miss her very much.
