Passed away peacefully at home, with his family on September 3rd, 2015.
James was born on March 27, 1940 in Los Angeles, to the late Harriet (Williams) Robinson and James Robinson Sr. He was raised in a loving home by his grandparents, Margaret and Elmer Williams.
After graduating from Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles in 1958, James enlisted in the US Navy.
After serving his country, he graduated from the Police Academy in Los Angeles. For 17 years, he protected the citizens of LA, working for the LAPD. Always looking for a challenge, he worked as a police officer, detective, SWAT team member and narcotics officer.
James relocated to Bellevue, WA in 1979.
He was Director of Security for Shorewood High School. Before and after school, he mentored at risk teens to help make a difference in their lives.
The amazing opportunity arose for James to work with his son Keith, at the Robinson Farmers Insurance Agency. He loved it and was highly successful in sales. His recent failing health forced him to retire after 20 years.
James loved nature and the outdoors. In 1960 he bought his first Harley Davidson and spent much of his free time riding with friends. He was a member of the Magic Wheels Bike Club, and his nickname was Distinguished Gentleman. For anyone that had the pleasure of knowing this amazing man, this describes him perfectly.
Family and friends were the most important thing to James. He spent countless hours at his grandson Ryan’s football, basketball and baseball games. This was the highlight of his week and he was always right there to congratulate and offer words of encouragement.
Time will pass but James will be missed by many. He will always be a hero to his two sons, Mark and Keith, and his grandchildren Ryan, Marshay and Nehemiah.
Rest in peace. We are so proud of you and your courageous battle. We love and miss you so much and know we will once again be together.
