James Stewart lockwood was born on September 8, 1936 to Dewey
and Maude lockwood. He was born and raised in Morris Plains, New
Jersey. He was the oldest of four children, with younger siblings
Ronald lockwood and Judy lockwood Antonaccio, both living in New
Jersey. He also had a second sister Sherrie, who passed away at a
young age. Jim attended Morristown High School and Newark
College of Engineering (class of 1959). During college he was also a
member ofthe Air Force ROTC. Jim's father died in 1955 when Jim
was only 18 years old. His mother, who was beloved by her family
and grandchildren, and lovingly known as Baa, passed away in 1976.
Jim married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Smalley, in 1956.
Their first child, Deborah, was born in 1957, followed by their son
Thomas in 1959, daughter Donna in 1963, daughter Diane in 1964
and daughter Dawn in 1968. Jim was a valued employee and
protective coatings salesman. During his career he worked for Alcoa,
Pittsburgh Chemical, U.S. Steel, International Sales and Rodda Paint.
Jim also shared ownership in l&l Supply and most recently PCCIfrom
which he retired in 2007. He was a long time member of the Port of
Engineers and was proudly selected as a NACE instructor.
Jim and Carolyn lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Texas before
settling in Bellevue, Washington in 1968. Along with helping to raise
five children and spoiling his seven grandchildren (Lisa, Rick, Tyler,
Nikki, Andrew, Nicholas and Chris) Jim enjoyed golfing, traveling,
playing cards and cheering on his New York Yankees and New York
Giants. In addition to his children and grandchildren, he also
welcomed into the family son in laws Mark Maxwell, Dwight Roush,
Steve Elms and Greg Barr, Daughter in law Julie lockwood, and just
this September, granddaughter in- law Julie Roush. Jim will be
remembered for his loyalty, friendship, generosity and unwavering
love for his wife, children and grandchildren. He will truly be missed
