Evelyn Josephine Butts (MacDonald)

Evelyn was born and raised in Renton, Washington and, as the oldest daughter, helped her parents with 7 siblings. After graduating from high school and secretarial school she was employed by the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA). She also worked for medical offices doing administrative work.

She was married to Joseph Walter Butts in 1946 and moved to the Highlands in Renton before settling down in Bellevue a 1954. By this time, they had 3 of the 5 children, Diane, Edward and Kathleen. Joanne and Wally soon followed to complete their family.

Evelyn was at active in the Catholic churches in Bellevue; first at Sacred Heart and Saint Louise and then as a church historian at Saint Madeline Sophie church.

Her family celebrated her 99th birthday last month and were present in the days of and preceding her death. She passed peacefully at her home in Issaquah. She is survived by her siblings Anne, Patricia and Douglas, as well as her 5 children, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren,
