Eddie Rousso was born to Victoria Bensal Rousso and Morris Rousso at Swedish Hospital, Seattle, WA, on Tuesday, December 1, 1931. He joined an older sister, Jennie. Seven years later, a second sister, Esther, followed. Eddie grew up surrounded by a large extended family, which remained important to him throughout his life. Eddie’s love of water, travel, and the outdoors was a consistent thread in his life journey. Following graduation from Garfield High School, he enlisted in the Navy, serving as a Seabee in Korea and the Philippines. A decorated serviceman, he attended the University of Washington upon his return. He had a long career with United Airlines, retiring in 1996. He married Sonia Neslin in 1953. Following her death, he married Charlotte Fleming in 1982. Eddie travelled often, with Hawaii being a favorite destination. He was an avid fisherman and a devoted son, husband, father, and friend. In addition to Sonia, his sister, Esther, niece, Victoria, and second wife, Charlotte, preceded him in death. Eddie passed quietly on May 18th, 2015. Eddie is survived by his sister, Jennie Magid (Los Gatos, CA); stepson, Chuck Fleming; daughter-in-law, Kathy Fleming, grandson, Justin (Redmond); stepdaughter, Charlene Knutson; son-in-law, Mark Knutson; grandchildren Katie, Robert, Fredrick, Edward (Kirkland); nephews, Debbie Hanson, Cori Neslin, Delbert Neslin, Phyllis Carey, Paul Magid, Morgan Magid, and Blair Barklow; their children; and many cousins. A small private service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to Wounded Warriors or a charity of your choice.
