Donna was born at Seattle's Swedish Hospital on August 11, 1944 to parents David and Mary Lou Palmer. She was the oldest of five children and only sister to her four brothers.
Donna attended numerous elementary and junior high schools in Western Washington and graduated from Mercer Island High School in 1962. She made many lasting friendships during high school and started the school's first drill team. She organized and decorated many class reunions for Mercer Island High School Class of 1962. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1967 with a B.S. in Pharmacy.
Donna was a 5th generation pharmacist and dedicated to her profession. She worked for several years at Pike Market Clinic Pharmacy where she found her soul mission practicing pharmacy for the under-served and homeless population. Prior to Pike Clinic, she worked at several other Seattle area pharmacies. In the early 1990s, Donna was a small business owner, having started the area's first temporary relief agency for pharmacists called PharmaStaff Inc. In 1991 she was awarded The Washington State Pharmacist's Association “Pharmacist of the Year.”
Family was most important to Donna. She was extremely proud of her children Kristin (deceased) and Scott. She loved providing beautiful experiences for her extended family and close friends for birthdays, celebrations and, especially, Christmas. Decorating and gardening were her passionate past times and her way of imprinting her sense of style on the world. Friends and family knew her for her love of autumn colors, particularly for clothing and jewelry.
She is survived by her son Scott, her mother Mary Lou Palmer, her brothers Richard, Doug, Dennis, and Darrell, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends around the world. In her death, Donna has been reunited with her daughter Kristin.
The loss to her family and friends is indescribable. She will always be remembered and ever present in our hearts. We know you are at peace now and filled with our love.
