A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she is survived by her sister Susan Altizo, sons: Jeff (Judy) Hadlock and Mark (Pam) Hadlock, ten grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren. Her husband, Harry Hadlock, sons: Craig Hadlock and Todd Hadlock, preceded her in death.
Her grandchildren and great-children admired “Grandma Donna”. Donna was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She graduated from Washington High School in Portland, OR and received a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University, UT. She was well read, participating in many book groups and other social events for ladies. Asked what her greatest accomplishment was, Donna would remember stories about the challenges and joys of raising four rambunctious boys from infancy to adulthood.
Once the boys were old enough, she and Harry became world travelers; living in Iran while Harry finished a teaching assignment for Boeing, and later to Ethiopia and Ireland for other teaching assignments. Mom took advantage of her time by taking bus day-trips, tours, excursions and any other excuse to learn about people and cultures. Along the way she made friends, sharing her love of life and wonderful laugh with those around her.
She loved opera and symphony performances, often accompanied by her youngest son Todd. Donna managed many adventures, from climbing a tight, narrow slope into the chamber of an Egyptian pyramid to seeing the smile of a street child as she fished out a coin or piece of chocolate for them from her purse.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, February 5 at 12:30 p.m. at Sunset Hills Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 1215 145th Place SE, Bellevue, WA 98007.
