David Scott Stewart

David Scott Stewart was born on November 27, 1942 in Seattle, WA to Melvin and Gladys Stewart. He passed away at the age of 70 in Kirkland, WA unexpectedly on Friday July 26, 2013 with his family at his side.

David grew up and attended school in Seattle, WA along with his two brothers Thomas and Mark. David graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1961 and Washington State University in 1965.

David was married in 1966 to Janelle Hailey and had two children, Hailey Machelle (Stewart) Whitlock and Joseph Scott Stewart. He had two granddaughters, Cortney Ann (Whitlock) Galbraith and Lindsey Janelle Whitlock.

David started working for his father in 1966 as a Gearlocker Manager at Seattle Stevedore Company and Food Services of America as one of the managers until he retired in 1987.

David married Beverly Fager on November 20, 2004 until his death.

David enjoyed traveling, sailing, boating, restoring old cars and going to and sponsoring cars at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe.

David is survived by his wife Beverly Stewart, Kirkland, WA; his daughter Hailey Whitlock, Monroe, WA; his son Joseph Stewart, Bellevue, WA; grandchildren Cortney Galbraith and husband Will, Lynnwood, WA; and Lindsey Whitlock, Monroe, WA; his brother Mark Stewart and wife Elizabeth, Kerrville, TX; 7 nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Dolce.

David is preceded in death by his father Melvin Stewart; his mother Gladys Stewart and his brother Thomas Stewart.

David will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1215 145th Place SE, Bellevue, WA 98007 (425)746-1400.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gene and Irene Wockner Hospice Center, 12822 124th Lane NE, Kirkland, WA 98034.

The children and wife of David S Stewart would like to thank the nurses and employees at Evergreen Hospital and the Hospice Center for their excellent care and the kindness and gentleness shown to their husband and father.
