It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher Craig (Chris, to all who knew and loved him) on October 31, 2023, at the age of 69. Chris peacefully concluded his journey to his home with God in heaven, succumbing to the challenges caused by Lewy Body Dementia.
Born on December 21, 1953, to Christopher and Doris Craig, Chris was a brilliant and kind man, who cared deeply for his family and friends. He found joy in travelling on both large and small adventures. He also cherished simple moments and enjoyed teasing those he loved. Chris had a unique ability to respect and connect with all kinds of people.
Chris grew up in Glenside, Pennsylvania. After graduating from La Salle College in 1979, Chris taught high school science at Germantown Friends School. Then, in 1981, he studied nursing at Thomas Jefferson University, School of Nursing. He graduated and worked as a registered nurse in the field of Oncology. He went on to graduate from the University of Washington in 1988 with a master’s degree and pursued a career as nurse practitioner. Since 1992, his focus in healthcare was sleep medicine. He was perhaps one of the first nurse practitioners specializing in the field of sleep medicine.
Chris is survived by his wife, Pat and his son, Elias. As we mourn the loss of Chris, let us remember the warmth of his smile, the joy in his laughter, and the love he shared so generously with those fortunate enough to know him. Chris Craig will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
