Carol Ann Rasmussen

CAROL ANN RASMUSSEN

Carol was born August 22, 1930 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and passed away September 15, 2018. In 1952 Carol earned a degree in Nursing from Augustana School of Nursing in Chicago, and in the same year married her high school sweetheart Bob Rasmussen.

After stints in Alaska and California, the family moved to Bellevue in 1958 where Carol used her great mom skills to raise their three children (and was one of the early Bellevue “soccer moms”). Carol also went to work for over thirty years as an RN in a Bellevue OB/GYN practice.

Retiring in 1998, Carol then went travelling around the country and also participated in many Eastside voluntary organizations, such as Redmond Senior Center and the Altrusa sorority, and maintained her long association with the St. Louise Catholic Church. Carol enjoyed spending time with her family and was blessed to have many friends share in her life journey.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, sister Yvonne, daughter Lorri, and ex-husband Bob. Carol is survived by her sons Rick (Theresa), Rob (Denise), grand-daughter Emma, and son-in-law Mark.

The family wants to thank all of the wonderful healthcare professionals at Kirkland Brookdale, LifeCare Kirkland, and Evergreen Hospice who helped care for Carol.

Carol was a positive and optimistic person who loved sharing laughter with friends and family, and if at any moment Carol was not singing or humming a song, she most certainly always had a song in her heart.

A Memorial Mass for Carol will be held at St. Louise Church in Bellevue on October 4th at 11AM.
