Brad Tuor was born August 18, 1947, to LeRoy and Mable Tuor. He grew up on a small farm in Lynden and attended Lynden public schools, graduating from Lynden High School in 1965. School, church-life, sports and music made up the framework of his youth. He had a talent for music, especially instruments, and played the French horn, baritone, and bass drum in the school band, as well as accordion. He attended Washington State University and then graduated from Peterson IT School in computer programming at the beginning of the computer-in-business era. He worked for several banks and then for Boeing for 30 years. His hobbies included bridge, golf, and recreational league fast-pitch softball as a player and as an umpire. He also played in the church bell choir.
He married Patricia Thompson in 1966, and they had two children, Tanya and Troy Tuor. Following his divorce from Patricia, he married Carol Gerber of Colorado. When that marriage dissolved, he moved back to Washington.
Brad’s daughter, Tanya took him into her home four years ago and with her family provided the care he needed when his struggle with memory loss became apparent. He passed peacefully on January 31, 2024.
He was predeceased by his parents, his older brother Barry, in 1959, and beloved son Troy who died in 2004.
He is survived by his daughter, Tanya Tuor of Federal Way; his grandchild Cato Buckner of Federal Way; his sisters Betty (Dale) James of Bellingham, Bertha (Dewaine) Moore of Enumclaw, and brother Brian (Kristi) Tuor of Mabton; as well as his first wife Patricia of Bellevue and his second wife Carol Gerber of Colorado.
