It was a honor to have known Betty and spend time getting to share conversations with her. I especially enjoyed hearing about her adventurous life and I drew strength from learning how much she was able to achieve after enduring personal tragedy. Many other people might have just quit living but she became stronger because of it. I think her devotion to her family and her sense of humor were the character traits that allowed her to move forward and these are the lessons I take from knowing Betty. She always asked about my family even though I could see she was in pain and that is a testament to the compassion she had for others. I know she is in a beautiful, peaceful place now and she has earned that.
