Betty was born in May of 1930, in Honolulu, Hawaii, and passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024, in Seattle, Washington, at the age of 94. A vibrant and outgoing individual, Betty was known for her sharp memory and friendly demeanor, endearing her to many throughout her life.
Betty graduated from McKinley High School and furthered her education at the University of Hawaii. She dedicated many years to the Social Security Administration in Seattle, where she served diligently as a Claims Representative, helping countless individuals navigate their benefits with empathy and expertise.
Outside of her professional life, Betty had a passion for casinos, enjoyed watching football (GO HAWKS!), and was an excellent baker, often delighting family with her culinary creations.
Betty was the beloved wife of the late Yoshio Shiota. She is survived by her loving daughter, Leslie, son in law Gary, her favorite granddaughter Hannah, her son Mark, and numerous nieces and nephews, who will hold her memory dear to their hearts.
Private services will be held to honor Betty's life and legacy.
