I have many special memories as kids being with Arlys and her family for the Holidays.  She would never fail to make us (we thought JUST for us)her yummy Peanut Butter pie among her other specialties; then spending the night with Krissie and wearing our matching homemade pajamas and robes! Her gift of hospitality was her way of loving others-
Arlys and her zest for life will be missed dearly!

My cousin Aryls was a beautiful, lovely lady who I will deeply miss.  A person I always looked up to as my oldest and wisest cousin.  Some of my youngest memories are of spending time on the old Jacobson home site with our families and frolicking with my two older sisters, and my older cousins, Arlys and Evy.  As the only boy and youngest of the bunch, I always seemed to get special treatment, especially from Arlys.  She had kept in touch all of these years, and even though we had not seen each other in many years, I have a special place in my heart for her.  Arlys, you will be deeply missed.

The news of Arlys' passing was a shock to me.  She was always a gracious host as I had visited her home with my parents many times as a child.  My mother and Arlys were cousins but I regarded Arlys more like an Aunt than a second cousin and would often refer to her as Aunt Arlys.  I left WA to attend college in Texas in '97 and I have re-located to DFW area but I have fond memories of holiday get-togethers that Arlys had hosted. Kristie, Denise and Brian, Arlys and I were first cousins, but because of geographic distances, didn't strike up a friendship until we were in our early 30's. Since that time, we would visit by traveling to either Washington or California....She was a wonderful hostess which showed in many little things she would do for her guests...She was always so upbeat about life and loved her family, church and friends....I know everyone will miss her

Kristie, Denise, and Brian - We were so shocked about the passing of my dear cousin, Arlys.  I am a first cousin to Arlys - My father, Clarence was a brother to Arlys' mother, Eleanor.
It would take pages to  write about  all the wonderful memories our family (including my mother)  had with Arlys and never forgetting the horrible snow storm we had in the Seattle area and Buckley where people were without heat for up to 3 or 4 days, trees falling all over - so we packed up and headed in to Arlys house where she welcomed us with open arms, food and all.  We all played games, shared memories about the Jacobson and Olson farms in North Dakota and had such a time of bonding.  She was always wonderful to our children and what a fantastic cook. 
She loved the Lord with all her heart and was a consecrated Christian!  
She will be greatly missed!  - To her children I would say, Yes, it is hard to lose a parent, but she is suffering no more and hold your memories of her dear to your heart.  -   My dear Arlys,  you are "gone but not forgotten". I was sorry to hear the sad news of Arlys' death.  My condolences to all the family. I am a cousin---their dad and my mother were first cousins.  Arlys and Evelyn were my playmates when I was young, and Arlys and I were in the same confirmation class at Daglum Lutheran church in North Dakota; we remained friends when the family moved to Dickinson.  May God grant strength and peace to you all at this difficult time. My prayers are with you.

Arlys was a Proverbs 31 woman. Her love for God and her family and friends
was a beautiful role model for me. She would light up talking about making dress for children she didn't even know all over the world (my last count that I was aware of is over 50) I have enjoyed laughing and being comforted by your beloved mother. She was a gift to our family, and loved deeply. Heaven is her new address; and her custom built mansion is right beside Dad's!
