Courage, persistence, generosity and humor are qualities that I appreciated in Aunty Anna. Derived from her effective application of these traits, plus an impressive network of contacts and sales skills was her authority and influence that gave me the opportunity to participate in so many interesting activities as a young woman in the Chinese community.

The most important contact in common was my Friday night sleepover hostess, high school locker partner, Chinese school fellow carpooler, badminton, bowling and volleyball buddy, fellow UWer, and dearest longest-time friend Lucy. Aunty Anna and Uncle Bill, Loraine too, made our friendship and gazillion hours of fun possible with their kindness and generosity, allowing me to stay at their home on countless occasions. (My mother had to call me home often to save me from being a squatter there.)

Later, when we ‚kids‘ left the area as young adults, every summer during our visits ‚home‘ Aunty Anna hosted a lunch that gathered all of us together at a big table, with delicious food, after which we added more special moments to our lives’ precious memories.
 
For the many memories that Aunty Anna enabled I will be always grateful.

So many will remember appreciatively Aunty Anna‘s always welcoming, jovial, energetic and engaging conversation that will continue as a  positive influence for a long time to come. Let us all smile together warmly as we remember how fortunate we were to‘ve shared time in this life with her.

It has been with great sorrow since we learnt the news on Anna’s passing. It was so shocking and sad. So shocking because it was just about a month ago that we had a good chat with her during dinner at her house and brought her favorite Tiramisu cake for her to enjoy. Sadly that was our last meeting.

It is also so sad because Anna and Bill have been our dearest friends and relatives, taking care of Steve when he first arrived in the US to attend school in Pullman, and becoming part of my family from our wedding to the growing up of our children and now grandchildren. Anna and Bill were so kind to host our wedding at their house in Renton, and Anna was the wedding organizer, arranging for the flowers and everything else. She knew that we loved her cooking so she invited us to her house for dinner whenever we are in town. In the last ten years, every time we met, they always asked about how Justin and Stephanie were doing and the details of our grandchildren. We miss them dearly and will remember them in our memory and prayers.

Lucy and Loraine and families, please accept our deepest condolences. May Anna rest in peace.

I never had the chance to meet Anna and Bill. I am friends with their daughter Loraine and son-in-law Aaron. I know Anna and Bill were amazing people because of the blessing their kids are. Blessings to the Chang family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hello, I have very fond memories of your mother and entire family as I would visit my aunt Virginia and uncle Odie over the holidays each year. Especially fond memories of Lucy and I hope that you and the family are doing OK. I found out about Anna’s death from cousin Nancy.  

I know my aunt and uncle considered your family as their family.
