Anna Chang was born to Tai-Peh and Pao-Cheng Lu in Chongqing, Szechuan. After the war, the family moved to Nanjing for a short duration. Then they moved to Taiwan. Her husband Bill preceded her in death.
Anna graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in architecture from Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. She attended the University of Washington in Seattle to satisfy architecture degree requirements. She worked at Boeing and retired after 30 years of service.
Anna was the matriarch of the family and of the Seattle Chinese community. She was involved with the Hwa Sheng Chinese Opera Club, Seattle Chinese Women’s Club, and various Mah-Jong groups. She enjoyed talking, eating, shopping, and traveling. She also enjoyed binge watching Chinese soap operas and cheering for the Golden State Warriors.
Anna is survived by her daughters Lucy Koepele (Kurt) and Loraine Mesaros (Aaron), her grandchildren Craig and Cara Koepele, and Chase and Mia Mesaros.
We will miss her authority, courage, persistence, humor, impressions, and her fashion sense.
