Ainsley Virginia Carl, beloved daughter of Andrea Carl and Jeffrey Carl, passed away on November 25 during a severe asthma attack. She was born in Seattle, WA, although she liked to tell people that she hailed from St. Petersburg, Russia. Ainsley was a second grader at Lakeview Elementary School in Kirkland, WA, who loved to read, write, draw, invent new ways of doing math, and dispense advice, whether it was solicited or not. She dreamed of going to Paris and becoming a fashion designer—serving as personal stylist to friends and family to make them “tres chic.” Her favorite colors were purple and pink, and as far as she was concerned, glitter was a vital accessory. She loved her iPad “apps” and pop music, as well as planning performances so she could dance with her younger sister Harper.
Ainsley’s passing is an important reminder that life is short, and every moment is precious. While we will miss her sparkling wit and sassy smarts every day, she will forever remain in our hearts and memories.
Ainsley is survived by her loving parents, Andrea Carl of Kirkland, WA; Jeffrey Carl and Kasey Crowe of Bothell WA; sister Harper Carl; maternal grandparents Frank and Judy Wojtaszek of Annandale, VA; paternal grandparents Nancy and Dave Carl of Tullahoma, TN; maternal aunt Jeanne Northcutt of Vienna, VA; maternal uncle Michael Wojtaszek of Fairfax, VA; paternal uncle Matthew Carl of Hohenfels, Germany; cousins Harrison, Clementine, Dante and Audrey; her nanny Jennifer Jones; plus countless friends who became Ainsley’s aunts and uncles through their love and support.
We will celebrate the life and spirit of Ainsley at 11 am, on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1215 145th Place SE, Bellevue, WA. A reception will follow. The family has planned a private burial afterwards.
