Wilfred served as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service for over 30 years in Belleville, Illinois. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a parishioner at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Belleville, Illinois. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and a member of the Southside Improvement Association. He also enjoyed bowling and playing cards, especially euchre and pinochle. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, who will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Determan, nee Weier; his parents, Henry and Anne, nee Moss, Determan; and his siblings; Alfred, Henry, and Victor Determan.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his two sons, Thomas W. (Betty) Determan, of New Baden, Illinois and Rick G. Determan, of Swansea, Illinois; his grandchildren, Bonita (Anthony) Noce, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Thomas J. (Catherine) Determan, of Swansea, Illinois, great grandchildren, Grace M. Noce and Maya J. Noce; his brother, Cyril Determan, of Belleville, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2018 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois and from 9 to 9:30 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the funeral home.
Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church in Belleville, Illinois with Monsignor William McGhee officiating. Interment will follow in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery in Belleville, Illinois.
