Ginny was born November 18, 1929 in East St. Louis, IL to Robert Skinker and Vera (Schneider) Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Robert V. Murphy; one sister, Gladys Tate and one brother.
Ginny is survived by her children, Robert A. Murphy of Chicago, IL and Cynthia Murphy of Edmonton, AB; grandchildren, Zoe (Sheldon) Nedelec of Vancouver Island, BC, Caleb (Sarah) Grey of Edmonton, AB, Aaron (Claire) Grey of Calgary, AB, and Melanie (Simon Debruin) Grey of Whitehorse, Yukon; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Anya, Winter, Lucia, Reina, Anika, Kaiya, Larissa, Cora and Stella, Savannah, Isaac, Elijah and Alexander.
Ginny was a member of the Red Hat Society, the local Moose Lodge, where she loved to line dance, and served as a local Rotarian with the Rotary Club.
She was a docent at the St. Louis Zoo, a role she loved dearly. She assisted with Art on the Square in Belleville for many years.
Ginny loved birding, spending time in nature, and was continuously eager to learn more about the world around her. Along with keeping her mind sharp, she stayed active, whether it be golfing, playing tennis, bicycling, swimming and Volksmarching.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 10:00 A.M.- 2:00 P.M. at Valhalla Gardner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. Private interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
