Orvin R. Kotsis was born on March 20, 1942, in Pensacola Florida to Pearlie and Joseph Kotsis and passed away at home on Monday November 25th, 2024, at the age of 82 in Walsh Illinois surrounded by his family.
Red resided in Walsh Illinois for over 30 years.
Red is an Army Vietnam Veteran who received the following badges during his time of service; Parachutist- 101 Airborne; Expert badge in 3.5 Rocket Launcher; Marksman badge in Pistol and a Sharpshooter badge in Rifle.
Red was an active member of Local 191 District Council 14 Painters Union for over 48 years. Some of Reds favorite things to do were traveling, taking care of his land, collecting coins, shooting pool, listening to country music, taking care of his family and making people laugh.
Red was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Pearlie Mae Kotsis, sister Patricia A. Murphy, daughter Tammy Mantz and best friends Randy White and Larry Durbin.
Left to cherish and honor Red's memory are his beloved wife of over 44 years Barbara E. Kotsis
Daughters Tonia (Doug) Noland; Teresa (Fadi) Chiha; Bonnie (Jim) Zarlingo. Son Joseph Kotsis. Brothers Robert (Norma) Kotsis; Joseph Kotsis, sister Mary Marsbalesr; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Monday December 2, 2024, 11AM at Valhalla-Gaerdner—Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway West Belleville Illinois.
