Mrs. Hastings was a Civil Service employee at Scott Air Force Base for eight years where she met her husband. In later years, she worked at Memorial Convalescent Center for 20 years. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Belleville, Illinois, the Belleville-Swansea Moose Lodge 1221 and she volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
Mrs. Hastings was preceded in death by her husband of 54 ½ years, Robert M. Hastings; her parents, Jack and Martha J., nee Todd, Sheridan; five sisters, Mary Sheridan, Ellen Powers, Katherine Sheridan, Doris Terry, and Virginia Calvert and six brothers, Robert Sheridan, Otto Sheridan, Jack Sheridan, Phillip Sheridan, James Sheridan and Tom Sheridan.
Surviving are her two children, Linda J. Grubbs of Naples, FL., and Robert D. (Christine) Hastings of Millstadt, IL; three grandchildren, Brian D. (Allison) Abrahams, Jamie S. Jordan and Erin A. Hastings; one great granddaughter, Paige Margaret Abrahams; sister- in laws, Joy Sheridan of Tilden, Il., and Roberta Sheridan of Millstadt, IL., also, survived by many nieces and nephews.
