Larry had a passion for music and loved playing guitar. He also enjoyed playing pool and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Merle, nee Sutton, Wakefield; his stepson, Daniel Hunter; his granddaughter and her husband, Cristy and Justin Campbell; his brothers, Michael and Richard Wakefield.
Surviving are his significant other, Gloria Hunter of Caseyville, IL; his children, Angela (Jeffrey) Schaefer of Ballwin, MO, Rebecca Lynch of Wentzville, MO, Jason (Ganey) Wakefield, of Prairieville, LA, Eric (Kara) Wakefield, of St. Clair, MO, and Brent (Katie) Wakefield of O Fallon, IL; step-children, Lenora “Len” Brueggemann of Caseyville, IL and Charles Hunter of Collinsville, IL; his grandchildren Courtney (Angelo) Surmaj; Jeffrey Jr., Joseph, Jackson, Jacob, Jason Jr.,Josiah, Joshua, Emily, Shelby, Katelyn, Ty, Brent Jr., Ayla, Zoey, Nicole, Robert, Jessica, Larry, Thomas, Katie, Charles, Jr., and Abbey; great grandchildren, Izak, Billy, Nolan, Justin Jr., Robert, Madelynn, Christian, Mya-Lynn, Jerimiah, Julian, Jaxson, Jordan, Lillie, Brealynn, Isiah, Neveah, Nila, Josh, Thomas, and Emmett; his siblings, Danny Wakefield, of St. Clair, MO and Sandra “Sandy” Wakefield, of Mascoutah, Illinois; a step-daughter-in-law, Kim Hunter, of Collinsville, Illinois; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral: A Memorial Service will follow at 12 Noon, Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020 at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Ridenour officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery in Freeburg, Illinois.
