June loved the Lord and made sure to tell everyone she knew where she was going because she had given her heart to Jesus when she was 12 years old. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia. In her younger days, she owned a stable and boarded horses. As much as she loved her horses, her love was soon to be her grandkids. She was also a dog groomer at Hoof & Paw Animal Clinic in Belleville, IL. If you knew June, you knew she was a hard worker, an amazing piano player, loved animals, loved to fish and watch the Cardinals play. But most of all, she loved her Savior, Jesus Christ and her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Rushing and Reba Alma Dale (nee Kennemore) Robbins; sons, Ricky David, Dennis Keith, Jefferson David Martin and sister, Doris Ann Robbins.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Rich (Gerry) Martin and Natalie (Kevin) Steele; grandchildren, Natasha Martin, Jessica (Neil) Pettijohn, Matthew (Patricia) Green, Cassidy (Jake) Fahrner, Maggi Kettler and Luke Martin; great-grandchildren, Haden Martin, Ruby, Nash and Trip Pettijohn, Remington Green and expected baby girl Fahrner; brothers, Tom, Fred (Laura) and Steve (June) Robbins, plus numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. June will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.
“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.”
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
